When installing the stainless steel Garmin PS70 through-hull transducer into an aluminum faring, galvanic corrosion is a serious concern. Two dissimilar metals in constant contact, in a marine environment, will eventually break each other down — damaging both the transducer and the faring block.

The PROTEK PS70 Transducer Insulator Sleeve is the fix. A precision-engineered barrier that fully encapsulates the top and sides of the PS70, eliminating direct contact between the stainless steel and the aluminum and stopping galvanic corrosion at the source.

The sleeve is made from high-quality ABS plastic — tough, corrosion-resistant, and engineered for long-term marine performance. It ships in two parts: the main body and a stem. The stem is cut to size during installation and easily relocated into the main body, allowing the sleeve to be customised to your exact faring depth.

The main body is intentionally sized 2mm oversize, leaving a uniform gap around the transducer that's filled with marine adhesive sealant during install. The result is a watertight, corrosion-resistant bond that holds up over the long haul.
