Before you start

Garmin software updates are bundled across the entire Garmin Marine ecosystem — unlike other brands, there's no separate software to install for each accessory. So before you run the update, make sure all your Garmin accessories are turned ON: autopilots, sonar modules, transducers, VHF radios, radars, sensors and instruments.
Some NMEA 2000 networks are powered separately from the screens. If that's the case with your system, switch the network ON before running the update.
Make sure your battery is fully charged. Do not turn the power off while a software update is running.
Updates can take longer than 20 minutes — be patient and let it do its thing.
